One in 70 women run the risk of being diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
Hundreds of runners & walkers gathered at Onondaga Lake Park
to help raise money for a cure and raise awareness of the disease.
The second annual Heather's Teal Ribbon Walk and Run was organized
by Hope for Heather. Organizers also set up booths to educate the
community about the disease. "We have a survivor tent, we have information
for women who are undergoing treatment, where to get help. We just
try to pass out the education and warning signs on to everyone here,"
said Frieda Weeks, President of Hope for Heather. YNN was a proud
sponsor of Sunday's run and walk. 2010
