Men of Teal

Hope for Heather selects 30 men each year to be Men of Teal. Each day in September a different Man of Teal is featured with a photo and a message about their commitment to spread awareness. 30 Community leaders take the pledge to spread ovarian cancer awareness. In celebration of ovarian cancer awareness month. They are equipped with symptom cards and ribbons and will spread awareness to their work and community circles for the whole month. Men of Teal - spreading ovarian cancer awareness to your community.

Gary Weeks

Gary Weeks - the original Man of Teal. I am at the NY State Fair today ringing our survivor bell and spreading awareness on ovarian cancer. Every woman must know there is no screening test for ovarian cancer and the symptoms are vague. It will not be detected in your annual GYN exam.

Jesse Irwin

This Man of Teal has been with us since day one. Jesse Irwin is a founding member of Hope for Heather. For the final two years of Heather's life, they were a team. He was Heather's caregiver and helped guide her cancer treatments. He knew she was passionate about ovarian cancer awareness and wanted to honor Heather by becoming a champion for the cause. More >>

Scott Lombardo

Scott Lombardo has been a Man of Teal from the beginning and continues as a major force in Hope for Heather's mission to educate Central New Yorkers about the signs and risks of ovarian cancer. He is the announcer at the Teal Ribbon Run and our Hope and Heels fashion show. More >>

Today's Man of Teal is Rick Policastro. You've definitely seen him if you've attended any of Hope for Heather’s events. In fact, you've probably looked straight into his eyes....well, his camera. Rick has been the man behind the lens at many Hope for Heather fundraisers over the years.

Bill Brazill

Today's Man of Teal is Bill Brazill. He's one of the many reasons we love having the annual Teal Ribbon Run at Lewis Park in Minoa. As the village's mayor, he always makes Hope for Heather and all of our guests feel welcome. More>>
